Using the CHEMEX Chettle®
Before First Use
1. Fill the Chettle® with water up to the maximum level indicator and let the water boil.
2. Pour out the hot water and repeat that process once more.
3. After that, the Chettle® is ready to use.
Step 1: Fill your Chettle®
Fill the Chettle® with water
between the MIN and MAX
fill lines.
Warning: Not keeping your water levels between the MIN and MAX lines can result in bodily harm or damage to your kettle.
Step 2: Heat your water
Place your Chettle® over the center of your burner. The stainless steel Chettle™® is compatible with
electric, gas, and glass stove top ranges.
Warning: The diameter of your electric and gas burner should ALWAYS be smaller in diameter than the Chettle bottom (6”). Do not let the flame of the gas burner spread beyond the bottom of the Chettle.
Step 3: Wait for the boil
When your Chettle® comes to a boil remove it from your burner.
Tip: After your water has come to a boil, remove it from the heat and let it rest for approximately 30 seconds before brewing.
Step 4: Brew your favorite hot beverages
Whether it be CHEMEX® coffee or tea the Chettle™ gives you the pour control you need for brewing success.

304 Grade Stainless Steel:
Often referred to as "food-grade" stainless steel, it’s non-reactive with many organic acids, making it ideal for kitchen and food-related applications. It’s non-magnetic, durable, easy to clean, and offers excellent impact resistance.
BPA Free Virgin Plastic:
Virgin plastic, produced from raw materials rather than recycled content, provides higher purity, durability, and consistency. BPA-free options are FDA-approved for safe food contact.
Food Safe Virgin Silicone:
Food-grade silicone is a specialized, non-toxic material engineered for safe contact with food and beverages.

Chettle® Safety
PLEASE READ BEFORE FIRST USE
1. NEVER fill the Chettle® beyond the MAX level indication. If the Chettle® has been overfilled, boiling water maybe be ejected from the spout and could cause injury.
2. Always fill the Chettle® above the MIN level indication to prevent damage to your Chettle®.
3. DO NOT place the Chettle® on a burner that is smaller in diameter than the bottom of the Chettle®. The bottom of the Chettle is 6" in diameter.
4. For ELECTRIC HEATING SOURCES keep the bottom of the Chettle® centered on the burner.
5. When using a GAS RANGE keep Chettle® centered on the burner and do not let the flame spread beyond the bottom of the Chettle®.
6. Direct heat under the spout may cause hot water to be ejected from to the spout.Direct heat under the handle may cause it to become too hot to hold. Both of these could cause injury or damage to your Chettle®.

Keep your Chettle® Clean
Dishwasher safe:
Put the kettle upside down with the lid removed and placed separately into the dishwasher.
Wash by hand:
You can easily clean the kettle by hand with soap and water.
Descaling the Chettle:
How to descale your kettle using vinegar
1. Fill the kettle with a solution of equal parts water and vinegar, and let soak for an hour. Next bring kettle to a boil and let the water and vinegar mixture sit in the kettle for another 15-20 minutes, discard water and rinse the kettle thoroughly.
2. Dry and then refill the kettle with plain water again, bring to a boil to get rid of any lingering taste of vinegar.
How to descale your kettle using lemon juice
1. Mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with 2 cups of water in the kettle, and let soak for an hour. Next bring kettle to a boil and let the water and lemon juice mixture sit in the kettle for another 15-20 minutes, discard water and rinse the kettle thoroughly.
2. Rinse out the kettle thoroughly then boil it again with clean water until the lemon scent is removed.

Limited ONE-YEAR WARRANTY
- Read all Instructions and Safety Warnings.
- NEVER fill the Chettle® beyond the MAX level indication. If the Chettle® has been overfilled, boiling water could be ejected from the spout and could cause injury. Always fill the Chettle® above the MIN level to prevent damage to your Chettle®.
- NEVER ALLOW YOUR KETTLE TO BOIL DRY. This can damage the Chettle® and the stovetop.
- DO NOT place the Chettle® on a burner that is smaller in diameter than the bottom of the Chettle®. (6")
- ELECTRIC HEATING SOURCES keep the bottom of the Chettle® centered over the burner. When using a GAS RANGE keep centered on the burner and do not let the flame spread beyond the bottom of the Chettle®. Direct heat under the spout may cause hot water to be ejected from to the spout. Direct heat focused under the handle may cause it to become too hot to hold. Both of these could cause injury or damage to your Chettle®.
- Hot water can cause serious burns, use caution while pouring.
- Do not touch the body or bottom of the Chettle® during and some time after use, as it gets too hot to hold. Always lift the Chettle® by its handle.
- Always have lid on when Chettle®™ is in use. Be careful of steam when you open the lid immediately after the water has boiled.
- The Chettle® is only intended for water.
- Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, small spots may appear in your Chettle®. This is the result of scale build-up on the inside of the Chettle®, to remove descale your Chettle® by following the instructions given in the ‘CLEANING + DESCALING’ section in the manual.
- By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the damage.
